Color Tips:

• When choosing a color scheme, select three colors from your fabric. Use the most muted or lighted value for larger areas like the walls. Pick the next brightest color and use that on the floor, the window treatments and on the upholstered furnishings. Save the brightest color for accents.
• If you love a strong color but don't want it to overpower the room, break it up with lots of white: on the windows, moldings, doors, wainscoting and bookcases.
• Widen a narrow room or hallway by emphasizing the short end wall with an intense color.

Design Tips:

• Create a new look every season by changing your pillows, adding a throw and even putting up different window treatments. Use heavier fabrics and richer colors in the fall and lightweight fabrics and bright or pastel colors in the summer.
• Create a cozy conversation area by moving larger pieces of furniture away from walls, bringing them closer to a fireplace or entertainment center. Adding a chair or two gives more versatile seating.
• Don't know where to start? Pick one item- a beautiful painting or a great sofa fabric- and match paints, rugs and other fabrics to it. Our expert designers can make it an easy process!
• Feel like you're on vacation in your own bedroom. Add sheers to a canopy bed using small rods. Don't have a canopy bed? Attach rods to your ceiling to give the illusion of a canopy. Instead of traditional lighting, install a chandelier. Make sure you bring a vase of cut flowers for extra romance.
