COLOR COLOR EVERYWHERE How do you pick the right colors for your home? It may seem to you that everyone is using brighter, bolder colors these days and you may want to update your home but where do you begin? We recommend that you start with something that gives you inspiration - for example, a picture in a magazine, a painting, or a favorite fabric. Try the following tips to help you with your choices: Try a sample before you paint the whole room Light changes color and the tiny paint chip that you see in the paint store may look totally different in your sunny, well lit kitchen. We carry C2 color chips which you can take home they are made with real paint and measure 18" X 24" Using a color wheel choose a 3 color palette The two most popular color combinations are complementary and analogous. Complementary combinations work because they represent opposites on the color wheel - shades of reds and greens or blues and yellows. These provide more definition and tend to make rooms more formal and exciting. Analogous color schemes tend to be more casual and relaxing and work best in informal or private spaces. Look in Your Closet Most people buy clothes in colors they look good in, similarly you should surround yourself in colors you feel good in.
