Babel's Design Studio joined area designers to "Deck the Halls" for a special open house fundraising event - The Second Annual Festival of Wreaths - benefiting the Room to Dream Foundation, a local non-profit organization dedicated to creating a healing environment for chronically-ill children.
On display were one-of-a-kind wreathes, trees, centerpieces and other holiday art. Babel's joined local designers who each decorated an entire venue, including nine theme-based rooms. Room themes ranged from Cape Cod and Victorian to Greek Revival and Tuscan.
Babel's Victorian Suite was inspired by the Victorian tradition of afternoon tea in the parlor. The room invited friends and family to socialize and enjoy the gaiety of the Holiday Season. Babel's Design Studio created a room luxuriously decorated, featuring tables set with the finest linens, china and silver. Brocade and damask fabrics added to the formal look of the room. Decorations of evergreen branches, wreaths, berries, dried fruits, flowers and ribbons portrayed a Victorian Style with color and beauty.
The Room to Dream Foundation focuses its services on children and families living in low and moderate-income urban and suburban areas. In order to complete each renovation, the foundation purchases all of the furnishings and supplies; every purchase is tailored to the specific needs of a child or family. Through a caring staff of professional and amateur artists, interior decorators, and volunteers, the foundation designs and transforms living spaces that give children and adolescents room to dream of a healthier future.
